Scouts

Scouts is the Scout section for 10.5 to 14 year olds. The section usually meets once a week for the duration of 2 hours during the academic term times.

Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.

Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.

Outside of weekly meetings, all troops are also invited to come along to district run events. Where scouts get to make even more friends and learn more skills from all over the district. All the activities that are provided are done so by trained leaders enabling them to offer a safe environment and valuable skills for life.
