Everyone

You may carry out your role if all the following are in place:

  • On your “roles” page, your relevant role “status” is either “provisional” or “full
  • When you “view” your role, on the  “approvals” page there is a date entered for your CE check
  • On the “disclosures” page, you have a “disclosure issued” that is within its “expiry date

From 5 months onward, you may continue in your role if:

  • Your “training” page has a “validation date” recorded for:
    • Essential Information
    • GDPR certificate
  • Your “training” page has a future “renewal due” date recorded for “mandatory ongoing learning“:
    • Safety
    • Safeguarding

Section Assistants

As above plus from 5 months onward, you may continue in your role if:

  • Your “training” page shows a “validation date” for:  “Tools for the Role”

Section Leaders and Assistant Leaders

As above, plus from 3 years onward, you may continue in your role if your “training” page shows:

  • A “completed” woodbadge for this role, or a previous role in the same Section
  • A future “renewal due” date for “mandatory ongoing learning“:  1st Aid

Skills Instructors

You may carry out your role if all the following are in place:

  • On your “roles” page, your relevant role “status” is either “provisional” or “full
  • When you “view” your role, on the  “approvals” page there is a date entered for your CE check
  • On the “disclosures” page, you have a “disclosure issued” that is within its “expiry date
  • Your “training” page has a “validation date” recorded for:
    • Essential Information
    • GDPR certificate
  • The skill you are instructing is listed on your “permits” page with a future “expires” date
  • Your “training” page has a future “renewal due” date recorded for “mandatory ongoing learning“:
    • Safety
    • Safeguarding

Woodbadge Holders

At the bottom of your “training” page, there is a space for you to enter your own ongoing learning.

Reviews

For most roles, on your “roles” page, under “status” there should be a future “review due” date. A review meeting is when you get together with your GSL if you have one, otherwise the DC, and discuss your own Scouting, including what training you have done/need/would like to do.

Review meetings are held every 5 years as a minimum, and you can initiate this yourself if you wish

Extensions

Extensions are possible for  “genuine extenuating circumstances” (POR The Appointments Process 4.9b) and the best way to apply for one will be to write/email Tony, District Appointments Secretary, marked confidential.
