District Network Commissioner
Role outline: Work with Network members to manage the Unit, so they may shape and participate in the programme in accordance with POR
Responsible to: District Commissioner
Responsible for: District Administrator for Network (if applicable), Programme co-ordinators (an informal role managing a project)
Main contacts: Programme co-ordinators, Network members, Network Administrator, Explorer Administrator, District Youth Commissioner, District Explorer Commissioner, ADC Explorers, other District Team members, other District Executive members and other Network Commissioners within Suffolk
Training: Woodbadge and ongoing learning required
Main tasks:
- Ensure that the District Scout Network operates.
- Provide technical advice on the operations of the District Scout Network.
- Support the Programme Coordinator(s).
- Encourage participation in the programme.
- Encourage participation in projects devised by the District Scout Network and other Scout Networks.
- Ensure that members of the District Scout Network are aware of volunteering opportunities in the District.
- Represent the interests of Network as an ex-officio member of the Exec committee.
- Liaise with the District Explorer Scout Commissioner and maintain effective links with all Explorer Scout Units.
