Training and self-development are an integral part of Scouting for all members. The training scheme is designed to help you in your role. It is split into many small modules for your convenience. It can be done online at click here for training modules

Once training has been completed, your skills needs to be validated to check the training was effective.  This check is done by Training Advisor.

Costs

Generally in Scouting, you should not be out-of-pocket from volunteering with us. Therefore, Scout-led training is free. However, you will still have to pay for any food eaten whilst attending and so on. Some activity courses are expensive to run and it is hoped they are helpful and enjoyable to you personally too, so you may be asked to contribute towards your attendance. (An example might be a weekend holiday learning to lead hillwalking.)
