Treasurers

District Treasurer:  We are looking for a new District Treasurer because Nik is standing down at the  AGM in June 2019 after doing a brilliant job these past few years.  Click here for what Treasurers do

Secretaries

Youth Membership Secretary – Providing a central point for new enquiries, maintain an up to date list of capacities in different Groups, and help ensure children on the waiting list are offered opportunities to join?

Appointment Reviews Secretary – Supporting line managers who carry out 5 yearly reviews with volunteers, good administration skills essential

“Network” Administrator –  Supporting our 18 to 24  age group, including supporting their effective communications and paperwork as they organise their own adventurous activities relating to top awards, for example the Queen’s Scout Award

Managers

Group Scout Leader (GSL)– providing line management for Leaders and ensuring the operation and development of Scouting locally.  We presently have 2 vacancies  in Westerfield and near Framlingham.  Click here for a role description

Project Managers

Assistant District Commissioner (ADC) Development – could you help us grow the movement and expand our provision so that more children can benefit from Scouting?  

Leaders

Leader – Do you believe in the values at http://scouts.org.uk/media/906937/Chapter-1.pdf ? For everything else, we have excellent free training available and no prior experience of running children’s activities is required.

Young Leader Scheme – Could you provide leadership and support for our Young Leaders who volunteer at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts alongside adults?

Skills Instructor – if you have a skill, you might enjoy passing it on to the next generation. For example this might be something that is covered annually or seasonally in the programme planned by the section leaders, such as archery or sailing.  Click here for the role description

Trainers

Training Advisers – Do you have the skills to understand our training scheme and advise and support volunteers accordingly?  The Scout Association’s 152 page guide for Training Advisers can be found at CLICK HERE and if you don’t find that daunting, we need you!

Trainers – Do you have the skills to teach our our new volunteers in a classroom setting?    Examples of lesson plans can be found at CLICK HERE    This role requires training/verification for Presenting and Facilitating.

1st Aid Trainers – We have an urgent requirement for trainers who can teach 1st Aid to Leaders.   This role requires a full 1st Aid certificate and training/verification for Presenting and Facilitating.  

Support roles

District Chaplains – Would you enjoy supporting leaders and young members of the same faith in their spiritual development?  Our organisation includes members of all faiths and none.

Honorary President – Could you represent Scouts in an official capacity, promoting the wellbeing of Scouting in the wider community and assisting to develop relationships with outside organisations?
