Roles from home 

Youth Membership Secretary –  Providing a central point for new enquiries, maintain an up to date list of capacities in different Groups, and help ensure children on the waiting list are offered opportunities to join.  

ADC Communications  – Do you have media skills to ensure Deben Scouts are represented appropriately within scouting and to the general public? Click here

Administrator –  Supporting our 18 to 24  age group in their effective communications and paperwork as they organise their own adventurous activities relating to top awards, for example the Queen’s Scout Award.

Roles with adult meetings

Trustees – Our committee usually holds four meetings a year, overseeing operations and keeping things ticking over nicely.

Group Scout Leader (GSL) – Do you have good management skills?  This role is supporting Leaders and ensuring the operation and development of Scouting in one of: Westerfield, Rendlesham, Saxmundham or Kettleburgh.   Click here

Explorer Commissioner – Supporting Leaders and ensuring the operation and development of Scouting for the 14-18 age group.   Click here 

ADC Community Impact – Do you have good project  and people management skills to support diversity and engage with our local communities?  Click here

ADC Development – Do you have good project  and people management skills to lead projects to help us expand our provision so that more children can benefit from Scouting? Click here

Training Advisers – Do you have a good understanding of how modern training schemes work? Click here

Honorary President – could you represent Scouts in an official capacity, promoting the wellbeing of Scouting in the wider community and assisting to develop relationships with outside organisations?

“Scouts Offshore” Officer –  Bookings, advertising, providing information to crew and others, grants & funding.   Details

Teaching roles

Young Leaders’ Supporter – Could you look after our under 18s who volunteer with different Groups, by delivering essential training and organising opportunities for them to meet up now and again?

Trainers – Do you have the skills to teach our new volunteers in a classroom setting?    Examples of lesson plans can be found at click here    Free training provided, no prior experience required. 

1st Aid Trainers – We have an urgent requirement for trainers who can teach 1st Aid to Leaders, under Scouts insurance.
