Phoenix camp is a Deben District event that gives Explorers, Young Leaders, and Scouts of 13+ a chance to get together with other members across the District. The aim is to encourage the younger members to join an Explorer Unit and encourage the older members to consider the next steps to join/form a Network Unit (18-25 year olds).
This year the camp will be held at Hallowtree, Alnesbourne Priory, Nacton, Ipswich IP10 0JP. You can see the site at https://hallowtree.org.uk/ from Friday 7 March at 19:30 until Sunday 9 March at 12 noon. It promises to be a weekend of fun, friendship and scout skills.
Activities are still being planned but currently we are looking to resurrect the idea of a 24-hour fire with associated activities including backwoods cooking, whittling, pioneering, orienteering challenge and possibly a hog roast. If you have any other suggestions please let us know.
