Deben District are delighted to announce that we are holding another full District Camp next year! The event is planned for the first weekend in May 2025. This follows on from our successful 2023 camp at Henham Park and is open to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from across the district. The event will be held at Skreens Park Activity Centre, in Chelmsford. This is an excellent venue with a wide range of onsite activities. District Camp 2025 is sure to be the biggest camp during the Scouting calendar with exciting activities, the opportunity to gain new skills and meet new people! You won’t want to miss the water activities too!

The adventure will begin on Saturday 3rd and run through until Monday 5th May.

We will be providing coach transportation for all young people and adults. Whilst finer details around this are yet to be confirmed, there will be various pick up points across the district on the Saturday morning. Coaches will also be used to get everyone back from camp on the Monday. Please indicate on the reply form if your child will be travelling by coach. It is important we know numbers in advance.

All sections will camp together in groups. We are planning an action-packed weekend of activities for all. There will be a number of activity bases including Archery, Air Rifle Shooting, Backwards Cooking, Bushcraft, Crate Stacking, Football, Tomahawks, Pioneering and more! The added bonus for this camp is that we have booked the lake at the venue for the whole weekend to be able to put on a range of water activities!

Cost:
  • Beavers/Cubs/Scouts/Explorers – Two Nights (Saturday to Monday) – £55
  • Young Leaders – £15 (to cover the cost of food for the weekend)
  • Adults/Leaders – £15 (to cover the cost of food for the weekend)

If your child is interested in attending, then you will need to sign up using the link and arrange to pay a non-refundable deposit of £10 to your section leader by Saturday, 30 November 2024. Your section leader will contact you about the payment arrangements.

There is also an “additional information” field, please use this to enter any information about allergies, dietary needs or disabilities so that we can taylor our planning to accommodate these at an early stage.
