Deben District – Lead Volunteer Appointments
I’m pleased to announce that both Adam Thorpe and Jayne Vaughan have agreed to share the role of the District Lead Volunteer for Deben District. The appointment was announced at the district AGM on 6th September and will be effective immediately.
I would like to thank Alex for his dedication and service to Scouting in leading the district for the last 2 years and putting it in a good place for the team to continue its growth.
- Jayne has 27 years’ service and has held several section, district and county roles. Jayne is a well-known and highly respected member of Deben District having received the Award for Merit for her continued and sustained Good Service in 2016. Jayne been a Cub leader at 1st Otley Scout Group and more lately supporting adult training and administration.
- Adam has 12 years’ service and has held numerous section, group, district, and county roles. Adam is a highly regarded scout volunteer having received an Award for Merit for exceptional and consistent good service to scouting in Deben District and will retain his current role as Group Lead Volunteer of 1st Woodbridge Scout Group.
I ask all volunteers and young people to welcome and support Adam and Jayne as they settle into their new role and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact them or me.
